Terms and privacy

The services described in this site are provided by Andrea - the Budapest guide, a licensed guide in Budapest, Hungary.

First of all, you have the right to tour the city accompanied by a competent, fully licensed guide who has good command of the language of your choice.

Before we set off on our tour, you need to agree to these terms and conditions. We also need to agree on the exact details of the service before the start of the tour, even if you selected a catalogue tour.

All services are walking tours; transportation or public transit tickets are not included, except where explicitly stated, or if we agree to them beforehand.

Admission tickets to venues along the walk are also not included, except where explicitly stated, or if we agree on them beforehand.

Each tour is conducted in one of the following languages: English, French, Hungarian, or Spanish. By selecting a language, you confirm that you understand the descriptions, explanations, and directions in that language, and you are able to ask basic questions related to directions and safety. If you have a mixed-language group and you need the tour in two or three languages, that is possible though discouraged, and comes at a surcharge that we agree on before the tour.

After you book a tour, you can cancel it free of charge until 24 hours before the tour would start, unless we agree differently. If you cancel a tour within 24 hours before start, you need to pay the entire service fee.

If I need to cancel a tour, I will refund any fees that have been paid in advance, except when I need to cancel for reasons outside my control (natural disasters, travel and transportation restrictions, or the guest's ineligibility to take the tour). If I need to cancel a tour at my own fault, I will do my best to arrange an alternative tour guide for you.

I offer to provide a guided tour only. I cannot facilitate other activities, especially not official proceedings or immigration services. You may not use my guided tour as a cover for unlawful or illicit activities.

During the tour, I may take photos or record brief videos that might include you or members of your group. I may plan to share some of these photos or footage on social media or my website; when that happens, I will ask for your written consent. Similarly, if you share photos or footage where I am recognizable, you are requested to ask for my permission in advance.

No warranties: My guided tours are available on an "as-is" basis. I will guide you along the advertised or previously agreed itinerary and provide explanations to the best of my abilities. I cannot take responsibility for the weather, the availability of the route, or the change in the accessibility or the condition of the buildings and other artifacts along the way.

Privacy notice

When you book a tour, you send your personal details to me through this website. Your data will be handled by a private business based in the European Union.

I will not use your personal details for any other purposes than providing you and your group with a guided tour, or sending you an occasional newsletter if you signed up to receive updates. I will not sell or hand over your details to any third parties, except when the law says I have to.

I will not keep your details any longer than necessary. However, once you pay me and receive a bill, accounting law requires me to keep your billing details for 8 years from the last transaction.

I will receive your details by email. This website is powered by Hostinger, a website hosting system headquartered in the European Union. My emails are handled by Microsoft Azure. As a rule, these emails are stored in the European Union, but the US CLOUD Act might require Microsoft to hand them over to U.S. authorities. I am working to move my email to a sovereign European provider.

Since I am a sole entrepreneur, I will handle your privacy requests myself. Reach out to the email address at the bottom of the page if you want to do one of the following:

  • Inquire about your data stored in my records (if any)

  • Ask to delete your data stored in my records

  • Ask to update your data stored in my records

  • Ask how your images were used in my online activity (provided such images were taken and I had your consent)
